Church is Anesthetized to the Message of God’s Love

We have become so comfortable with the idea that God loves you who desires to have a personal relationship with you. We have become numb to the fact that God gave his one and only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to atone for our sin because of his unchangeable love for his creation. This magnanimous love, truth, and divine mystery no longer moves us now. The tragic … Continue reading Church is Anesthetized to the Message of God’s Love

Good Friday: When Something Bad Turns to be Good

This is a teaching on Good Friday that I did for the church few weeks ago. One of the youths in the church approached me and asked if I could do a short teaching on the topic and why we observe something such a bad day in the history to be something so good for us. The video is in Nepali though. Continue reading Good Friday: When Something Bad Turns to be Good

A King’s Armor is a Towel!

Jesus, the Messiah, the Deliver made a triumphal entry to Jerusalem riding on a donkey last Sunday. The King that was expected long ago to come and deliver his people from the oppression of Rome did not come as a warrior king but as a humble king who was going to bring peace.  Today is the day, the same king voluntarily chose to wrap a … Continue reading A King’s Armor is a Towel!

Martha: “I Do Not Understand Your Timing”

I kept lagging behind in posting particularly this one post. Few weeks ago, some youth from my church came to me and asked if I would preach on the death of Lazarus (John 11:1-44). They had composed a song and showed me the lyrics to play as a response song to the sermon. They even asked me to join them in the band. I had no reason to say “no” to their humble invitation to play my harmonica with them after listening to them singing. That was my first attempt to play any music instrument before the congregation. "But Blessed is the One Who Trusts in the LORD"

In my previous post, I already wrote that I am not a singing material. Throughout my short and long-term missions, I acted like singing when the team had to. Nevertheless, I always fully enjoyed when my teammates would sing Gospel songs whenever and wherever we found people during trips. Those days are quite hard to forget, thus I have a hard time overcoming this nostalgia … Continue reading "But Blessed is the One Who Trusts in the LORD"

I will not but His Song will Live Forever

Last week Saturday, I had what I would like to call it a life time experience with my youth group in the newly formed Nepali-Speaking Community Church. It should not be a big deal for many people who have been a part of choir, or singing on the stage. For me, that was my first time ever on the stage singing any song. Singing is … Continue reading I will not but His Song will Live Forever

Busy Summer on the Horizon

I have not been able to keep up with this personal blog. I just want to let y’all know that I also have been posting for different blogs (cafn, cafnepal, cafntube, ambassadorial, apost360) while also going to school as a full-time student. Producing a podcast or sermon every week is also consuming a chunk of time. Sometimes, I also do not know how to manage … Continue reading Busy Summer on the Horizon

Groaning and Growing Together

I know, I know! It’s been a while that I’ve not posted anything here. I have been very busy, since we had our second son. My proposal for intern pastoral staff position was approved by the elders’ committee. Now, I’m in the pastoral staff in our church for a year. By the end of my term, I’ll have gone for seminary. However, my ministry among … Continue reading Groaning and Growing Together

Audio Book Download of the Month: A Place of Healing by Joni E. Tada

I have to confess that I have not read any book by Joni Eareckson Tada until today. However, I have heard or read about her in some other Christian writers’ works. Philip Yancey mentions her testimony in his book Where is God when it Hurts?, as well. Few months ago, I thought of checking this out from the library. To do list piled up once I … Continue reading Audio Book Download of the Month: A Place of Healing by Joni E. Tada
